Julia Day
Research Speech Pathologist
Julia Day is a speech pathologist and coordinates the assessment intervals for Victorian participants in the LOCHI project. Julia has worked on the project since early 2006 and has a strong interest in maintaining high quality data collection. She has taken on the role of coordinating the quality processes for the enormous amount of LOCHI evaluation data collected each year. Prior to her role on LOCHI, Julia worked as a speech pathologist in schools for over ten years, providing consultative support for children with speech, language and literacy difficulties. Her interest in preventing literacy problems led her to complete a Master of Teaching through Charles Sturt University in 2008. Julia works on the project four days a week and spends her other time caring for her two primary school-aged children.
Patricia van Buynder
Paediatric Audiologist
Trish Van Buynder is one of the original members of the LOCHI team and began on the project in 2005. She worked with Australian Hearing for 9 years as a paediatric audiologist prior to commencing on the project. She also has a Diploma in Education. Trish oversees the audiologists working on the project as well as coordinating the staff in Victoria.

Laura Street
Research Speech Pathologist
Laura Street joined the LOCHI project in 2008. She has a degree in Speech Pathology from La Trobe University Melbourne, a Specialist Certificate in Clinical Research (Neuroscience), and a Certificate IV in training and assessment from Swinburne University, Melbourne. Laura combines her role on the LOCHI project with school speech pathology in Melbourne's outer east
